I know, I know…”Not Brussel sprouts” I hear you cry … but the poor old sprout, even though unpopular, is so very good for our bodies!!

Brussel Sprouts contain masses of bone-loving Vitamin K, loads of Vitamin C and have a huge amount of health benefits including being anti inflammatory, packed full of anti oxidants and can also help to lower cholesterol!

Here’s a great recipe to liven up the humble brussel sprout…and if you’re still not entirely convinced at how good they are for you, take a look here! 

Garlic Lemon Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Serves 4

1 lb Brussels sprouts (washed, ends removed, halved)

2-3 cloves of garlic (minced)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

dash salt and pepper

 

Preheat oven to 200c

In a bowl toss sprouts with garlic, oil, and lemon juice. Spread on a baking tray and season with salt and pepper.

Bake for about 15 minutes, give them a mix and then bake for another 10 minutes.

Serve and Enjoy!
